The FBC is used to determine the quantities of cellular elements and the concentration of Haemoglobin in venous blood - general health screening. The FBC comprises of Haemoglobin, White Blood Cell count (including differential) Red Cell Count (and indicies) and Platelet count. It is used in the investigation of suspected anaemia, infection, leukaemia.
