Read MoreThe dose and interval should be adjusted in order to produce target peak and trough serum concentrations.
Expected levels, according to 2017 Bristol Antimicrobial Reference Laboratory – Guideline Ranges:
Pre-dose (trough) target level: 20-40 mg/L
Post-dose (peak) target level: 50-100mg/L
Pre-dose (trough) concentrations <20 mg/L have been associated with treatment failure and emergence of resistance.
Post-dose (peak) concentrations >100 mg/L have been associated with toxicity.
