Dengue is a travel-associated viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes.Dengue is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. It most commonly presents with fever and joint pain, but can be more sever. This test can be used to determine whether a person with symptoms and recent potential exposure to dengue has been infected. Symptoms may initially resemble other diseases, such as malaria. IgM antibodies are produced first and are detectable 7 - 10 days after infection while IgG levels rise more slowly and can persist. Samples must be accompanied by a completed RIPL request form, including full travel details. Form is available at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rare-and-imported-pathogens-testing-form-to-submit-sample
